On the dense jungle moon of Lauranti live the gigantis indespectus, a highly intelligent prey species known as the Calyptratus. Snoot, the Elder of the council of Calyptratus, leads their people and protects them from the many predators who also inhabit their home moon. The dense jungle canopy allows for little light to reach the jungle floor, where the Calyptratus live. Their pitch black eyes allow for maximum absorption of available light, and their natural camouflage ability has protected them from the many predators who stalk the jungle, allowing for the development of advanced sciences and art forms over their multi-century long lifetimes. As leader and council elder, Snoot is responsible for passing on the thousands of oral traditions of his people.
